A basic design that makes this BEAMS PLUS V-neck cardigan versatile enough to be worn as a light jacket or mid-layer. A basic, timeless pattern with a slightly relaxed fit. Easy to coordinate with shirts as well as cut-and-sew tops.

Made from a rare, old-fashioned knitting machine, the "Azuma knitting machine," using a domestically produced heavyweight terry cloth fabric with 30/30/7 count yarn. The reverse side of the yarn is brushed, creating a warm material suitable for the autumn and winter seasons.
The Azuma knitting machine is one of the early knitting machines from the 1970s, when the industry transitioned from loopwheel knitting machines to high-speed knitting machines, and is a rare and valuable machine with few remaining. It is a low-productivity knitting machine with an extremely slow knitting speed, only able to knit about 1-2 rolls per day on one machine. Because of its slow speed, it achieves a soft, voluminous fabric texture.
